Wireless STB Hits China Market

Nanfang Daily, 11/07/07

Last week, Gadmei introduced a new range of wireless audio-video (AV) products to the market. The VC108 is a wireless PC to AV product that allows AV playback on a computer to be transmitted to a television, and can be used for real-time, simultaneous watching and recording.

Gadmei's GM2400 supports AV to AV, making it suitable for use with digital set-top boxes (STB). However one short-coming of the device is that if used simultaneously with multiple televisions, each television can only receive the channel currently being transmitted by the STB, rather than each being able to view its own separate channel.

Industry insiders say that Panasonic, Dahua, China Aerospace New World Technology and Coship also have similar products, however these were abandoned during the testing or concept stage due to the complex technology driving up costs.
