IGRS Fails Bid to Become International Standard

SohuIT, 11/09/07

The IGRS standard has failed to pass the ISO/IEC's Final Commission Draft stage. However, IGRS Brand Promotion manager Mei Ruibin indicated that the group will continue to work towards acceptance as an international standard. The failure was due to a lack of communication with organizations of some counties on a number of points, which led them to vote against the standard.

According to Mei, the Final Commission Draft process consists of voting, consultation, and further voting. This result is by no means final, and the IGRS group will be actively working to ensure a successful result in the next stage.
