SARFT Issues Part 4 of CMMB Standard

On November 14, the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT) issued part 4 of the industry standard for mobile multimedia broadcasts, further completing the China Mobile Multimedia Broadcast (CMMB) standard. Part 4 focuses on emergency broadcasts, which will be used by the broadcasting system to rapidly notify listeners of emergency events. Industry professionals believe that with emergency broadcasting CMMB has found another practical application, further increasing the standard's worth.
