Newman to Make Handsets

At the 2007 CCW CEO & CIO Summit, Newman president Tang Weide indicated that it is soon to follow up on its acquisition of a mobile phone manufacturing license with new handsets, which will be distributed via its existing digital and communication product channels. Newman was originally an MP3 and MP4 manufacturer and entered the GPS sector last year. Newman is currently the second-best selling Chinese GPS brand.
Newman submitted its application for a handset manufacturing license prior to the State Council abolishing the licensing requirements.
