UTStarcom Wins IPTV Deal in Brazil

UTStarcom (Nasdaq: UTSI) has announced it has cooperated with Brasil Telecom to launch its first IPTV service in Latin America. The service uses UTStartcom's RollingStream end-to-end IPTV solution and has initially been deployed in Brazil's capital, Brasilia. There are plans to expand the service to 50,000 users in the southern and mid-western regions of the country shortly.

UTStarcom is also involved in mapping out of IPTV networks in India and Japan. The company claims that worldwide, there are around 600,000 IPTV users using its IPTV systems.
