MII Releases January to November 2007 Statistics

Ministry of Information Industry figures for January to November put national telecom services income at RMB 663.92 bln, up 10.9%. Mobile phone user numbers rose 7.9 mln during the month of November, reaching 539 mln, representing an increase of 78.3 mln users since the beginning of 2007.

The number of fixed-line subscribers has fallen for the last four months, dropping 1.4 mln in November. However, the period between January and November saw a net increase of 1.5 mln fixed line subscribers, with the total figure reaching 369 mln. PHS user numbers fell by 1.2 mln from the end of October to 86.9 mln at the end of November.

Registered broadband access users increased 14.7 mln over the first 11 months of 2007, reaching 65.6 mln.
