Kingsoft to Distribute Windows Live Messenger in OEM Software

Kingsoft (3888.HK) and Microsoft have announced that the two companies have reached a royalty-free distribution agreement, which will allow Kingsoft to distribute Windows Live Messenger with the OEM versions of its software products. The software products include its anti-virus software, PowerWord and WPS Office, enabling Windows Live Messenger to be distributed to users through Kingsoft's regular OEM distribution channels which include major PC manufacturers, telecom operators and other partners.

Kingsoft stated that in 2007 it sent out approximately 7 million CDs, and expects that in 2008 there will be millions of users installing and using the most recent version of Windows Live Messenger.
