Giant Wins Operating Rights for Empire of Sports

Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) announced today that it has won the exclusive rights from Switzerland-based Empire of Sports Ltd to operate Empire of Sports, a new sports-based MMORPG, in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. The license will remain valid until September 15, 2011.

Empire of Sports Ltd. is a joint venture between Infront Sports & Media and European game developer F4.

At launch, Empire of Sports will include basketball, tennis, skiing, and a series of fitness and training games.
