Guizhou Starts Cable Network Consolidation

The Guizhou provincial government recently issued the Guizhou Provincial Plan for Province-Wide Consolidation of Television Network Consolidation and the Promotion of Informatization, which calls for a province-wide consolidation of cable television networks. An industry source said that the consolidation may take place along the "Shaanxi model," which established a provincial-level broadcast network holding company to consolidate province-wide broadcast resources, ending in a market listing.
