Baidu HK Listing Unlikely in 2008

Sina Tech, 2/14/08

CEO of Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), Robin Li has said that the company is unlikely to list on the Hong Kong stock market this year, but that he was still interested in listing opportunities that were beneficial towards investors and customers.

When asked what effect a Microsoft purchase of Yahoo would have on Baidu, Li stated that Microsoft and Yahoo's share of the Chinese search engine market was not very big, hinting that such a move would have little impact on the company.

On the subject of major record companies suing Baidu in Beijing, Li stated that the company had yet to receive any notification from the court, and had only seen reports of the suit in the media.
