According to a Credit-Suisse report, TD-SCDMA Alliance Secretary-General Yang Hua confirmed at an Alliance roadshow in Europe last week that that State Council is calling a meeting to discuss the telecom industry restructuring; and that he expects 3G licenses to be issued within several days - with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) acquiring a TD-SCDMA license, China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) a CDMA2000 license, and China Netcom (NYSE: CN; 0906.HK) and China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) jointly winning a WCDMA license.
