Rumor: Blackberry May Quit China Market

Nannuo Tech, 2/18/08

Informed sources have indicated that Blackberry solutions provider Research In Motion (RIM) may quit the China market due to lacking a cost advantage and also because of competition from China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), which also offers mobile email services. Changsha Mobile has revealed that since establishing a Blackberry service in 2006, only one person in Changsha has subscribed - a businessman employed by a foreign-owned enterprise.
