3Com, Huawei Merger Application Withdrawn

3Com announced on Wednesday that it was unable to reach an agreement with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and that it has withdrawn its filing concerning its proposed merger with Huawei. Last September, the 3Com board approved a merger plan whereby the US private investment firm Bain Capital and Huawei would purchase the networking equipment manufacturer for USD 2.2 bln.
