CCID: 2007 Domestic Computer Sales Reach RMB 147 bln

A new CCID report found that in 2007, a total of almost 28 mln computers - including desktops, notebooks, and servers - were sold, bringing in RMB 147.2 bln. 6.3 mln notebooks were sold, a growth of 49.5% over the previous year, for just over RMB 50 bln, a revenue growth of 33% over 2006. Desktops accounted for 21 mln computer sales, 12.9% more than the previous year, leading to just over RMB 86 bln in sales, up 3.4% on the 2006 revenue figure.

CCID predicts that the personal computer market could be worth RMB 170.4 bln in 2008, growing to RMB 263.8 bln by 2012.
