Sepura Opens TETRA Terminal Production Line in Tianjin

Sohu IT, 3/14/08

TETRA digital communications product designer, manufacturer and provider Sepura announced that its new TETRA terminal production line, the result of RMB 15 mln in investment from Sepura, began operations in Tianjin yesterday. Terminals produced at the facility will be sold in China and other Asian countries, as well as in South America, Africa, and other countries and regions.

The Tianjin Communication and Broadcasting Group will take responsibility for the manufacture of the Sepura products.

Figures from third-party analysts show that 30% of all TETRA terminals came from Sepura in 2007. The company is the largest provider of TETRA products for police, fire departments, and emergency response services, and has a 10%-12% market share in China. Sepura was the first TETRA product maker to provide products capable of operating within the 350-352 MHz wireless band for China's public security services. Its other clients include the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce (BAIC), the Beijing Traffic Police system, Xiamen Airport, and the Beijing People's Armed Police system.
