Rumor: TD-SCDMA Talk Time to Cost RMB 0.4 per Minute

Reliable reports are claiming that TD-SCDMA usage rates may be set at RMB 0.6/minute for videoconferencing and RMB 0.4/minute for normal conversation. Videoconferencing will not be calculated as part of TD-SCDMA traffic; MMS messages sent from TD-SCDMA numbers will cost RMB 0.6 per message for intra-network messages, and RMB 0.8 for inter-network messages.

At the moment there are no unlimited data traffic plan options available to users. The default plan, charged at RMB 10 per month, provides 30 megabytes of TD-SCDMA traffic allowance, upgradable to 200 megabytes/month for RMB 50, 4 gigabytes for RMB 200, and 8 gigabytes for RMB 300. Additional data traffic will be charged at RMB 0.01 per kilobyte, with a maximum possible charge of RMB 500. Users exceeding their traffic allowance will be prevented from accessing certain TD-SCDMA network functionality.
