China Mobile Unveils New Game Platform

Sina Tech, 4/11/08

Following its completion late last year and several months of internal and commercial testing, China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) new Monternet-based mobile game billing platform went live today.

Under the Monternet portal's "gaming" column, this reporter found a link to the "Special-priced RMB 5 Gamer Zone," which posts 15 new games, accessible for RMB 5 per month apiece, every month.

Reportedly the first services available in this initial phase are provided by Sina Mobile (Nasdaq: SINA), MIG China, Wubile, Tencent (0700.HK) and other major game makers, with offerings from major developers such as Electronic Arts (EA), Sega, Glu Mobile, Gameislive and others being heavily represented.
