Mainland Listing Delayed for Red-Chip Companies

Sina Tech, 4/14/08

Informed sources have claimed that due to a depressed stock market, the probability of red-chip listed companies such as China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), Lenovo (0992.HK) and China Netcom (NYSE: CN; 0906.HK) listing on the domestic A-share market before the end of the year was relatively low. Previously, July 2008 had been slated as the date when the first red-chip companies could list on the domestic A-market, but this has now been delayed to avoid lower valuations under current depressed-market conditions.
