China Mobile, Softbank, Vodafone to Build Innovation Lab

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), Softbank and Vodafone yesterday signed an agreement in Beijing to open a Joint Innovation Lab that would promote the development of new mobile technologies, applications and services. The Joint Innovation Lab will focus on speeding up the development of mobile Internet services, and will initially concentrate on mobile widget development.
The creation of the Joint Innovation Lab is still awaiting regulatory approval from the relevant government authorities.
