CDM Premium DTV Channels Land in Beijing

After nearly four years of talks, 27 premium digital cable channels run by CCTV subsidiary China DTV Media (CDM) will arrive in Beijing through the Beijing Gehua CATV Network (600037.SH), where China DTV Media will become the fifth premium DTV programming aggregator after Shanghai Media Group (SMG) subsidiary Shanghai Interactive TV (SiTV), Beijing All Media and Culture Group (BAMC), TopV Digital TV Media, and Huacheng Digital Movie & TV Co., Ltd.

GM Wang Yan of CDM said that his company currently has 41 premium TV channels and one free electronic program guide covering a potential audience of over 80 mln cable viewers and 20 mln digital cable viewers across China. The company also has more than 4 mln online premium subscribers, for a total of more than 90% of the premium cable market nationwide.
