Beijing Tax Bureau to Regulate Online and TV Shopping

Deputy director Wang Honghu of the Beijing Municipal Office of the State Administration of Taxation said yesterday that television shopping and online shopping have been added to the list of "areas of focus" for the bureau this year. The bureau issued a list of 10 "typical" tax loophole cases for 2007 yesterday, among which was TV shopping company Beijing Guanghui Jiyuan Trade's evasion of taxes of more than RMB 19 mln over four years - the first such case brought against a TV shopping company.
