Linktone Q1 Revenue Up 44%

Chinese wireless value-added service (WVAS) provider Linktone (Nasdaq: LTON) has announced its unaudited financial results for Q1 2008, with gross revenues reaching USD 20.5 mln, up 44% year-on-year and 28% quarter-on-quarter.

GAAP net loss for the quarter came to USD 4.2 mln, compared with a net loss of USD 7.0 mln in the fourth quarter of 2007 and a net loss of USD 3.4 mln in the first quarter of 2007.

First quarter revenue from data-related services such as SMS, MMS, WAP and Java gaming was USD 7.3 mln, accounting for 36% of total revenues.

Revenue from audio-related services such as Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and color ringback tones (CRBT) accounted for 40%, or USD 8.3 mln of total revenues.

Advertising service revenue accounted for USD 4.0 mln, or 20% of total revenues.

The company estimates Q2 2008 revenues will be between USD 16.5 mln to USD 18 mln.
