Zhejiang Telecom to Build 500 FTTH Communitie

Zhejiang Telecom has announced that it will join with Greentown China Holdings Ltd, the Zhejiang Yaojiang Group and 50 other large-scale domestic real-estate developers in investing RMB 1 bln to be used to construct 500 FTTH residential communities and over 4000 wireless broadband access points within the year. The system will be able to provide HDTV services for 5000 households simultaneously; by 2010, wireless hotspots are slated to cover the entire province.
