China Mobile Launches Round 2 of TD-SCDMA Terminal Bidding

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has issued a solicitation for new TD-SCDMA terminal procurement bids. The company is seeking approximately 100,000 terminals in all, including TD-SCDMA handsets and data cards, in order to continue its promotion of the new service, and will require that TD-SCDMA data cards support HSDPA functionality. Handsets and data cards alike must have network access permits from the Ministry of Industry and Information (MII).
