China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) has announced a strategic tie-up with wireless telecommunications research firm Qualcomm to use the latter's CDMA technology in the mobile network it is acquiring from China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH).
