MediaTek to Start Large-Scale Production of TD-SCDMA Chips

cnBeta.com, 6/18/08

According to an informed source, MediaTek has completed its initial adjustments following the company's acquisition of Analog Devices, Inc.'s (ADI's) chipset business. MediaTek will soon establish a unit dedicated to TD-SCDMA research, and expects to achieve scale production of the technology shortly.

Yang Hua, Secretary-General of the TD-SCDMA Alliance, acknowledged MediaTek's strengthened support for the TD-SCDMA standard. Industry insiders suggest that MediaTek's ability to produce chips in large volume will bring a significant force to bear in favor of TD-SCDMA in the marketplace.
