China Mobile to Begin Tietong Asset Inspection

Communications Weekly, 6/23/08

An executive with the working group managing the restructuring of China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) and China Tietong has revealed that next week China Mobile will carry out an inventory of Tietong assets. Tietong's financial, planning and strategic development departments will assist with the task.

The source said that rumors that Tietong would be split into three only represent the view of Tietong's own management team and it is hard to say if the proposal will be accepted by China Mobile executives.

From June 10, Tietong outlets in the city of Ji'an, Jiangxi province, will provide services for China Mobile customers, including payment of bills, sale of SIM cards, balance recharging and receipt printing.
