New MII English Name and Web Address Selected

According to reports, the General Office of the State Council has formally approved a new English name and acronym for the former Ministry of Industry and Information. The new Ministry will be known formally as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT). The organization's domain name will be www.miit.gov.cn, although the older address of www.mii.gov.cn is still in use while the website for the new organization is being built.
