Shanda Adopts New Payment Model for Changchun

17173.com, 7/04/08

Online game developer and operator Shanda (Nasdaq: SNDA) has announced that it will adopt a new payment model for 3D MMORPG Changchun Online. Under the new model, if a player logs into the game for chatting, engaging in general combat with other players ("player kill" or "PK"), or conducting in-game item trading, he can do so in a dedicated in-game "free-play zone" and no fee is charged. However, if a player wishes to enter the portion of the game in which he can play towards advancing a level, he must pay for the playing time. For promotion, Shanda will reward players who log into the game in the first two days of open beta testing with 22 hours of free playing time.
