Sina Tech, 7/18/08

The Alibaba Group's online payment system, Alipay, will be offline from midnight to 10 am on July 19 for system upgrades. Following the upgrade, the system will be capable of supporting 200 mln users. Alipay will double the number of servers.

At the same time, a major reorganization of Alipay, code-named "the Columbus plan," will take place, with the goal of satisfying Alipay's development needs for the next three to five years.
