Giant to Re-launch Previous Version of ZT Online

Shi Yuzhu, chairman and CEO of Chinese online gaming firm Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) has stated that the company is on the verge of releasing an older version of its MMORPG ZT Online. The company is resurrecting the pre-2007 version of its game, eliminating 80% of paid in-game items, including the paid option to open "treasure chests" which was seen as similar to gambling. The rereleased version will start closed beta testing on July 23.
