Ku6 Buys Equipment, Hires Managers for Olympics

Online video sharing website Ku6 is purchasing equipment and undertaking a large-scale upgrade of its hardware and software in preparation for the Olympics. The company has hired two senior managers, one from Tencent (0700.HK) and one from investment firm MIH. The two new hires will be responsible for technology maintenance and interactive new media development respectively.

Ku6 claims to have 220G of bandwidth for use during the Olympics, and expects to serve 250 mln pages each day. It has added a new service group to assist advertisers during the Games, and help handle its Olympic user-generated advertising (UGA) promotion and provide tailored advertising services to clients.
