Beijng to Invest RMB 1.6 bln in“Wireless City”

Xie Linzhen, the chief scientist for Beijing’s "Wireless City" constructor CECT-Chinacomm, claims a total of almost RMB 100 mln was invested in the first stage of the Wireless City project. The second and third stages of the project will require investments of RMB 500 mln and RMB 1 bln respectively.

Wireless City expert and Beijing government expert consultant Zhuang Zixin revealed last weekend that China already has 10 major cities in the process of building wireless cities. These are Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Qingdao, Yangzhou and Shenzhen.
