Gome H1 Net Profit Up 191%

Chinese home appliances retailer Gome (0493.HK) has announced its unaudited interim financial results for H1 2008, with revenues reaching RMB 24.87 bln, up 17.6 % year-on-year.
H1 net profit were RMB 1.15 bln, up 191.1% YoY.
58% of revenues during the period came from the sale of telecommunication, IT, digital and AV appliances.
As of June 30, Gome had 828 stores in mainland China, of which 73 were flagship stores, 710 were ordinary stores, and 45 were specialized stores. In addition, Gome';s parent company owned an additional 351 stores not within the structure of the group.
