Anhui Communications Capex Since 2003 Totals RMB 27 bln

Figures released yesterday at a conference on the last five years of infrastructure construction in Anhui province show the province has spent RMB 27 bln on basic telecommunications infrastructure since 2003. An additional RMB 552 mln was also spent on upgrading cable television networks.
By the end of 2007, Anhui's core local and long distance fiber-optic lines reached 2.68 mln kilometers and 710,000 kilometers in length respectively, and the province had 1.56 mln broadband users.
