Dopod Sued for Copyright Infringement

Chinese Blogger Liu Yijun is suing mobile phone manufacturer Dopod after a photo placed on his blog was turned into an advertisement for Dopod's mobile service. Both Dopod and Beijing based advertising agency Touchmedia are listed in the lawsuit, with Liu asking for RMB 1 mln in compensation and for an apology to be published in the national media.

Liu Yijun blogs on Sina (Nasdaq: SINA), where his blog is ranked third based on traffic and has garnered nearly 189 mln clicks. He has also appeared in television and on films.

The Beijing Chaoyang District People's Court has accepted the case.
