Fujian Reduces Telecom Packages

The Fujian Pricing Bureau has launched a province-wide campaign to simplify package-deals for telecommunication fees. The move will see the total number of packages on offer from telecom operators reduced from 2,450 to 288. China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) will drop from 305 packages (across 24 categories) to 16 (across 6 categories). China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) will reduce the number of packages on its GSM network from 436 (across 26 categories) to 20 (across 7 categories).
