GAPP to Release Real Name System Soon

Zhang Yijun, director of the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP)'s Science, Technology and Digital Publishing Department, revealed today that the department's gaming addiction prevention efforts are nearly complete, and that the department is in talks with public security authorities to launch a real-name authentication system in the near future.

Zhang said that GAPP will abide by the principle of supporting domestic innovation as it steps up its efforts to crack down on cases of harmful content and of pirate servers, unauthorized add-ons and hacks, and intellectual property infringement.
