Tencent Launches English Version of IM Site

Instant messaging developer Tencent (0700.HK) has confirmed it has created an English language website for an international version of its instant messaging program QQ, with English language users now able to register and download software. Users can choose between English and Chinese on the site, with Chinese the default setting for users accessing the page from within China. Website content differs between the English and Chinese versions.

A public relations employee at Tencent confirmed that the company has recently developed an international version of the instant messaging program, but did not reveal how many international users have registered.
