The People's Daily has reported that based on the number of search queries, Chinese online search firm Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) had a 73.2% share of the Chinese search market in 2008, with 90% of domestic users choosing to search with the company. Baidu currently handles several hundred million search requests each day.
