Rumor: Netease to Launch Video Channel

An industry source has revealed that internet portal Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) has begun internal testing of a video homepage in preparation for the launch of a new video channel in the near future. Netease video content will mainly include popular television programming, news video, videos from the entertainment world, popular internet videos, live television feeds, films, and soap operas. The majority of Netease's video content partners are satellite television stations in provincial capitals. The future URL of the service may be v.163.com; a visit to that address currently redirects to Netease's news video homepage.
