Rumor: China Mobile, Google Renew WVAS Contract

An industry source has stated that search engine firm Google and China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) have renewed their Monternet cooperation agreement with no significant changes made to the contract. According to the agreement, the two parties will continue cooperating for Monternet mobile search functionality, and other related Internet fields.
Google and China Mobile initially announced a 2-year cooperation in January 2007.
The source did not reveal whether Google and China Mobile would cooperate in other areas such as mobile handsets or netbook computers.
