China Yahoo SNS to Launch API Platform

China Yahoo has released a preview page for an open API for its Yahoo Relationships SNS platform, announcing that the platform will shortly be released, and providing contact information for application developers. Lei Guoping, technology development director for China Yahoo's community and communication operations department, stated that the company began development of the API platform at the end of 2008 and that development work was now essentially complete. The platform will shortly undergo testing and will gradually be made available to third-party developers.

Since the end of 2008, China Yahoo has seen 100% growth in user logins and invitations to its SNS, and the average number of friends per user has increased 167%.
