Kingsoft WPS Wins CSRC Order

China Securities Journal, 4/16/09

Chinese application and entertainment software developer Kingsoft (3888.HK) recently announced that the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) has ordered Kingsoft WPS office software products. Senior vice president Ge Ke said the order covers all of CSRC's computer equipment.

In the first quarter of 2009, Kingsoft has won office software contracts from Yunnan Copper, Livzon Pharmaceutical Group, Shenzhen Commercial Bank and Ningbo Broadcast Television Group.

Yan Xiaohong, deputy director for the National Copyright Administration, stated the administration is currently coordinating with the CSRC and other regulators about whether to follow Hong Kong's example and require companies to use genuine software in order to be eligible to list on the stock exchange.
