Netease to Remove Regional Barriers between Mainland WoW Servers

Wabei, 6/13/09

The transitional site for World of Warcraft in Mainland China has posted an announcement saying that gamers who create accounts on the upcoming Chinese equivalent to Battle.net, Blizzard's primary MMO gaming site, and enter their former WoW account number and password, will be able to play on any mainland World of Warcraft server without any regional restrictions, regardless of what region their character may have been in previously. Game point recharge cards will also be usable on all WoW servers. The announcement said, however, that the official Chinese Battle.net site had yet to go online.

Editor's Note: In August 2008 Blizzard granted Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) the Mainland Chinese operating rights to it Battle.net platform, as well as to a variety of its games, including Starcraft II.
