China to Step Up Regulation of Internet Cafes

From July 1 to October 31, China's Ministry of Culture will conduct a new "cultural" campaign focused mainly on the regulation of Internet cafes, stepping up measures to prevent illegal admission of minors and illegal operation of electronic games, cartoons, and online games. The Ministry will also establish and fine-tune mechanisms for effectively cracking down on unlicensed internet cafes, especially those which operate under names like "information services station" and "video game arcades."
