GAPP: WoW Still in Process

A spokesperson for China's General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) said that its has begun the formal review process for World of Warcraft, the MMORPG developed by US game firm Blizzard and licensed for operation in Mainland China by Netease (Nasdaq: NTES). In the Notice of Acceptance sent to local authorities, GAPP clarified that the review process was limited to 20 days, in addition to which a review of game content taking up to 60 working days (not including the time it would take to address any problems found in game content) would be necessary. GAPP said that the review process for all foreign online games being imported to China would be the same.
