Rumor: 6 Vendors Participate in TD-LTE Outdoor Trials

An industry source has alleged that TD-LTE outdoor testing has begun, with six telecom manufacturers participating, including Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson, Datang Mobile, Huawei, ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) and China Potevio.
The testing process determined by the TD-LTE Working Group has three stages: indoor testing, outdoor testing, and large-scale outdoor testing, which will involve two or three major cities each equipped with 100 base stations. Testing was mostly in the first stage in H1 2009. Datang Mobile, Potevio, Huawei and ZTE all participated in the indoor tests.
