Rumor: Baidu to Release Site Analytics Platform

Chinese online search engine Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) will soon release a new platform codenamed "Sherlock Holmes." An industry source revealed that subscribers to the value-added service will be able to obtain usage statistics for their website, such as IP address, time on site and traffic sources, and use that data to formulate a more effective marketing plan. A Baidu spokesperson said more details will be revealed when Baidu formally launches the system.
