Chongqing Fines Internet Cafes for Using Pirated Software

West China Metropolis Daily, 7/29/09

According to the Industry and Commerce Administration of Yilong County in Chongqing, a 6-month inspection of 36 internet cafes throughout the county revealed more than 2,000 computers installed with unlicensed Microsoft software. RMB 55,200 in fines are being levied against 17 of the internet cafes, while the remaining 19 are still under investigation.
